Making Movie Posters

                                    

This week's task was making a movie poster about a book we read. I chose Tolstoy's book What Men live By as I think it would be a good short movie. 

I used my computer's already installed 'Preview' application. I like this tool as I can make PNG easily and it is easy to use for someone like me who is not very skilled at photoshopping. I don't know if it was because of the application I used but while writing everything in the instructions the poster looked so crowded with texts. 

As though this is an interesting task and fun for people who are interested in photoshopping or digital designing, I didn't enjoy it a lot. I struggled to make texts clearer and readable and I got frustrated a lot. Moreover, if this homework was given to a graphic designing student, it would make sense but in the ELT field, in my opinion, it is kind of irrelevant. The only English I produced is the tagline on the poster and others are taken from the internet. I spent 1 hour on this poster and it wasn't focused on English. So probably I wouldn't use this task in the future or I would additionally make my students write a summary of the book.
